Enrollment

Julie’s enrollment remains strong with an increased focus on students attending in person.

Last fiscal year, Julie’s served 283 students including:

  • 134 learners 16+ in Adult Basic Education
  • 55 parents in Family Development
  • 38 children infant to 6-years-old in Children’s Services 

Outcomes

Last year, a record number of students at Julie’s earned their high school equivalency and were supported in taking their next steps—whether enrolling in college, entering vocational or training programs, or joining the workforce.

Last fiscal year,   

  • 30 students received their high school equivalency – 150% increase over last fiscal year!

  • 60 passed at least one test towards their high school equivalency

Programs & Partnerships

  • 26 Boston Public Schools’ parents, seeking to improve their communications with their children’s schools, participated in our English training program funded by a grant from English for New Bostonians 
  • 10 students were trained through our Tech Goes Home program. 
  • We engaged 30 volunteers who performed a variety of tasks including tutoring, providing music therapy, teaching yoga and crafts, painting, gardening, and more. Volunteers came from AmeriCorps, Boston Children’s Foundation, IVS New England, Emmanuel College, South Boston MOMS Club, Julie’s alum, Liberty Mutual, and the community. 
  • 200+ current students and alums received holiday food and gifts, back to school supplies for their children, and emergency and transportation assistance through our wrap around support services
