"We ran in the Boston Marathon to help

families break out

of poverty."

4 Runners

Colleen O’Coin works at Emmanuel College. She heard of Julie’s through Miriam Finn Sherman, who is a friend and previous Julie’s employee. Athletics have always been an important part of Colleen’s life, as she enjoys the challenge and discipline required to be successful. She was honored to be running for such a worthy cause.

Valerie Stephens, a colleague of Colleen’s, heard stories about the amazing work and the “ordinary miracles” that have taken place in the lives of many families because of Julie’s. She was inspired to offer her assistance by running as well.

IraIra Rothman works at OmniLite designing lighting arrangements for buildings throughout Boston.  This was Ira’s third marathon, but his first running for Julie’s and with his son Max.
MaxMax Rothman, Ira’s ‘training partner’ is an aspiring writer who will be graduating from high school this spring to pursue a Journalism career in the fall.  He is glad that his first race was to help families break out of poverty!

"Thank you Colleen, Valerie, Max and Ira on a job well done!"

On April 21st, Colleen, Valerie, Max, and Ira ran in the Boston Marathon and raised over $5,000 for Julie's.

All the staff at Julie's would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all four runners for their tremendous efforts to help disadvantaged families build better lives.
